Alabama Power Service Organization: A considerable force for good works
The Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) includes more than 4,000 Alabama Power, Southern Nuclear and Southern Company Services employees and their families. That’s a considerable force for positive works to improve the quality of life in Alabama communities.
APSO is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization whose members focus their efforts on helping nonprofit groups and charitable projects that promote education, environment and community enhancement and meet critical human needs. From the nine chapters across the state, APSO members typically donate more than 75,000 volunteer hours to our communities each year.
Energizers: Retirees involved in their communities
The Energizers group is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization of Alabama Power and Southern Company retirees and spouses who are committed to serving communities across Alabama through charitable programs.
Energizers lend their support to schools, hospitals, libraries and numerous nonprofit organizations. More than 1,800 members work through 11 local chapters across the state. Energizers contribute an average of 40,000 volunteer hours a year.
