Public Information

As part of the hydroelectric relicensing process, Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) regulations require that Alabama Power maintain a Public Information File (PIF) for each of the Projects or developments for which the company is seeking a new operating license. The PIF contains documents and correspondence related to the Project or development. Nine PIFs are available:

For each document in the PIF, the list includes a date and title. In some cases a large amount of correspondence related to a specific issue was grouped into a single document. In these cases the first and last date of the correspondence is listed.

You can request a copy of any document listed in the PIF by written mail, electronic mail, or telephone. A single copy of a document up to 10 pages in length is free of charge. A document in excess of 10 pages or multiple copies of a document are charged at a rate of $0.10/page. Requests for copies are usually processed within 2 weeks. A form is provided below to facilitate information requests. If you have questions about the PIF contact Viki Jenkins at Alabama Power.
