Below is the 2012 Renew Our Rivers schedule and contact list.

Volunteers should contact the cleanup coordinators for information on the event.

 

March 2-3 - Lake Eufaula

March 24 - Lake Mitchell
Volunteers will meet at Higgins Ferry Park at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch.

March 26-31 - Logan Martin
The cleanups will be held at various locations beginning March26. Volunteers should contact the coordinator for details on supplies and areas targeted during the week. The community cleanup will be Saturday, March 31 from 8:00 a.m. and end at noon. A picnic will follow at Lakeside Landing off Highway 31 south of Pell City.

March 31 - Choccolocco Creek (confluence with Logan Martin)
Volunteers meet at Hwy 77 bridge/boat launch area. Clean-up ends at noon followed by free volunteer BBQ at Lakeside off Hwy 31 south of Pell City. Please contact coordinator for volunteer/supplies/T-shirts/ BBQ lunch.

April 2-7 - Weiss Lake
The cleanups will be held at various sites. Volunteers should contact the coordinator for details on supplies and locations.

April 7 - E.C. Gaston (Lay Lake)
Volunteers will meet at Richey's Resort located at E. C. Gaston Steam Plant at 7:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch.

April 14 - Cahaba River
Volunteers should report to the Piper Bridge Boat Ramp at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon. Contact the coordinator for further details.

April 16-21 - Alabama River
Sites to be determined. This cleanup is sponsored by Wilcox Natural. Individuals who wish to participate should contact the coordinator for further details.

April 16-21 - Lay Lake
Cleanups will take place at various locations during the week. Volunteers should contact coordinator for details on supplies and locations of cleanup areas. The community cleanup will be Saturday, April 21 from 8:00a.m. to noon at Beeswax Public Boat Ramp. The event will be followed by a picnic lunch.

April 20 - Yates and Thurlow

April 21 - Lake Jordan
Volunteers should report to Bonner's Point Boat Landing at 8:00 a.m. The cleanup will end at noon followed by a picnic lunch.

April 24-26 - Mobile River (Plant Barry)
Cleanup activities will be held at various locations. Contact coordinator for further details.

May 2-4 - H. Neely Henry
Cleanup activities will be held at various locations during the cleanup. Contact coordinator for further details.

May 12 - Weeks Bay
Cleanup sites include the shoreline of Weeks Bay, Magnolia River, Fish River and bridge crossings along tributaries. Registration is at the Weeks Bay Resource Center. Event runs from 8:00a.m. to noon and includes lunch. Volunteers should contact coordinator for details.

May 18 - Mulberry Fork (Plant Gorgas)
Volunteers will meet at Gorgas Boat launch at Baker's Creek (behind #2 Plant) at 7:00 a.m. for further details contact coordinator.

May 21-23 - Smith Lake (Walker County)
The cleanup will target large blocks of white beaded foam previously utilized as pier flotation. The cleanup will operate out of Smith Dam Boat Launch. Contact coordinator for further details.

May 29-June 2 - Bankhead Lake (Black Warrior River)
Large items will be picked up during week. The community cleanup will be held Saturday, June 2 from 8:00 a.m. to noon at Quinn's Landing, in Adger. A picnic lunch will follow the cleanup. Contact coordinators for further details.

June 27-28 - Smith Lake (Winston County)
Cleanup will operate out of U. S. Forest Service Houston Branch Recreation Area Boat Launch. Volunteers should meet at 8:00 a.m. each day.

August 6-11 - Holt Lake (Black Warrior River)
Large item cleanup will be held during the week. Volunteers should contact coordinators for details. The community cleanup will be held Saturday, August 11 at Rocky Branch Park off Highway 216 from 8:00 a.m. to noon. A picnic lunch will follow the cleanup.

August 11 - Upper Tallapoosa River
Volunteers should report to Tallapoosa River Outfitters off Highway 46 near Heflin for direction to cleanup sites. Volunteers should contact coordinator for time to arrive at sites.

September 12-15 - Village Creek
The in- the-water cleanup will be Sept. 12-14 from 8-11 a.m. with lunch afterwards. The community area cleanup will be Saturday, September 15 from 8:00 a.m. to noon with a site "Big Tent Lunch." Contact the Coordinator for details and site locations.

September 14 - Locust Fork (Plant Miller)
Volunteers will meet at the boat launch near the entrance to Plant miller at 7:00 a.m. Please contact coordinator for further details.

September 21-22 - Smith Lake (Cullman County)
Cleanup site to be determined. Cleanup times will be from 8:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. on September 21 and 8:00 a.m. to noon on September 22. Volunteers should contact ROR coordinator for details.

October 5-6 - Lake Martin (Tallapoosa River)
Volunteers will assist in roadside and lake shoreline cleanups. Sites to be determined.

October 24-27 - R. L. Harris (Tallapoosa River -Lake Wedowee)
Volunteers during the week should contact coordinators for assembly locations. The Saturday, October 27 cleanup will be held at Highway 48 boat ramp from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
