Children are the cornerstone of Alabama’s future. For many years, Alabama Power and its employees have provided support for hundreds of educational initiatives. Our programs, ranging from new teacher grants to a hands-on environmental education museum, help generate interest in the world around us, inspire creativity and encourage life-long learning.

The Water Course Find out about our hands-on, interactive water and environmental education museum.      Course of Study Standards Our exhibits meet requirements in the Alabama Course of Study requirements for Science and Social Studies. Science Suitcases Activity kits that include building electrical circuits, plotting the weather and working with color and light plus much more on loan free to educators.    New Teacher Grants The Alabama Power Service Organization recognizes outstanding first-year teachers with funds to purchase classroom supplies.    Learning Power Discover topics ranging from the basics of power plants to how investor-owned utilities do business.
