Spiced Nuts

  • 2 c. salted mixed nuts
  • 1 c. whole pecans
  • 1 egg white
  • 1 T. orange juice
  • 2/3 c. sugar
  • 1 T. grated orange peel
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground ginger
  • 1/2 tsp. ground allspice

Place nuts in a big bowl. In a small bowl, using a fork, beat egg white and orange juice until foamy. Add sugar, orange peel and spices. Mix well. Pour over nuts and stir to coat. Spread into ungreased 15" x 10" pan. Bake at 271 degrees for 45-50 minutes or until crisp and lightly browned. Stir every 15 minutes. Cool. Store in airtight container.
