Storm Damage Assistance
Storms and natural disasters leave a devastating mark. They tear down, uproot and destroy, but families are repairing their homes and rebuilding their lives. And Alabama Power is ready to help our customers.
One of the consequences of the April 27th storms is the loss of cooling and heating systems to thousands of homes in Alabama. That includes homes that suffered damage to heating and cooling equipment as well as homes that were destroyed and need to be rebuilt from the ground up.
Alabama Power is offering a Storm Damage Assistance Program, which provides cash back to homeowners replacing heating and cooling equipment or a water heater due to storm damage.
To help ease some of the financial burden for affected families, for a period of time Alabama Power is offering cash back ranging from $100 to $300, depending on the type of equipment needed, to customers to help pay for the installation of electric heating equipment. Additionally, residential customers may receive a free water heater plus $100 for installation or $300 if they buy their own water heater.
In addition to helping homeowners lower the upfront cost of replacing their systems, the installation of new, higher efficiency equipment will help them lower their energy bills for years to come.
To receive assistance, you must complete an Alabama Power claim form and submit a copy of the insurance form or FEMA claim form documenting the loss of equipment.
