Looking for a summer side dish? Try this savory and sweet fried corn recipe!
Ingredients
6 ears of corn
1/4 teaspoon pepper
3 tablespoons flour
1-1/2 cups water
3 teaspoons sugar
3 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions
Shuck corn and pull off silks. In a large bowl, cut the corn from the cob with a sharp knife. Scrape up and down the cob with a spoon or knife to get the "milk" or corn juice.
Combine flour, sugar, salt and pepper in a small bowl. Then slowly pour in the 1 1/2 cups of water. Stir with a fork or whisk to combine.
Melt butter over medium-low heat in a large, heavy-bottomed skillet. Add the corn and flour mixture. Fry over medium-low, occasionally stirring to ensure it doesn't stick to the bottom, for 20-25 minutes or until browned.
