Alabama Power’s Dee Anne Odom selected to Mobile Bay Magazine’s Top 40 Under 40
Mobile Bay Magazine recently unveiled its Top 40 Under 40 list for 2021, recognizing emerging leaders.
Among those honored is Dee Anne Odom, Alabama Power’s Distribution Support manager for the Mobile Region. Odom is responsible for planning response to major storms and leading restoration efforts. She works closely with the local leadership team and the corporate Storm Center to make decisions on manpower needs and restoration priorities.
“I am immensely thankful to be included in Top 40 Under 40,” said Odom. “It is a great feeling to be recognized, though it would be impossible without the help and support from a significant team of employees over the years.”

Top 40 Under 40 highlights people in Mobile who have distinguished themselves in their fields before the age of 40. Honorees were selected based on the key role they play in the community. Members of the 2021 Class include up-and-coming leaders in the arts, medicine and energy sector.
“Dee Anne provided exceptional leadership during two significant hurricane restoration efforts impacting Mobile in 2021,” said Steve Kirkham, general manager of Power Delivery in the Mobile Division. “Her dedication and commitment to our customers, her teammates and the company during these historically challenging times are to be commended.”
Odom leads the team designing and managing large projects throughout Mobile Division, as well as the capital, operations and maintenance associated with those projects. She manages upgrades and improvements that improve customer experience and reliability.
In addition, Odom is active in the community, serving as a member of the Industrial Advisory Board for the University of South Alabama’s College of Electrical and Computer Engineering and the new Doctor of Systems Engineering program. Previously, she was on the Alabama Power Service Organization board, Junior Achievement of Tuscaloosa board and Coalbed Methane Association of Alabama board.
Odom earned her Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of South Alabama and a Master of Art from the University of Alabama. She is a licensed professional engineer in Alabama.
