It’s amazing how shared experiences can create lifelong connections.
Take high school athletics, for example. Competition, struggle, triumph all have a way of bringing teammates together.
Recently, a group of former athletes from Birmingham’s George Washington Carver High School who competed from 1966 to 1971 gathered at The Fish Market in downtown Birmingham for what was called an “inaugural reunion.” Some haven’t seen teammates since they played together more than 50 years ago.
