Lakes and Recreation

We manage 14 hydro facilities along the Coosa, Tallapoosa and Black Warrior rivers with more than 3,500 miles of shoreline and nearly 120,000 acres of land. Our team of shoreline managers works closely with communities surrounding the reservoirs to protect and enhance the scenic, recreational and environmental resources these lakes offer. We also work to meet the needs of individual, industrial and organizational stakeholders by permitting shoreline structures and promoting best shoreline management practices. Visit our Shorelines website to learn more.

Renew Our Rivers

Renew Our Rivers is a national award-winning campaign originated by Alabama Power in 2000 that has since grown into community cleanups on rivers, lakes and creeks across four Southeastern states. Since its start, thousands of volunteers have removed more than 13.5 million pounds of trash and debris from waterways. Typically, more than 30 community cleanups take place every year in Alabama. View the Renew our Rivers Schedule at the button below and email for more information or to join a cleanup.
