Save money with your eyes closed.
Sign up to save when you charge at night.
If you own or lease a plug-in electric vehicle (PEV), you’re in charge. You can save on your electric bill while you sleep with the EV Night Charging Discount (PEV Rate Rider). When you charge your electric vehicle at home between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., you’ll receive a 1.7155¢ per kWh discount off the kWh charge under your current rate plan for the electricity used during that time. Not only is this good for your wallet, but it’s also good for our power grid because it helps reduce demand during peak hours.
To qualify, customers must be taking service under the Family Dwelling, Family Dwelling Demand, Residential Time Advantage-Demand or Residential Time Advantage-Energy rate and must own or lease a PEV manufactured primarily for use on public streets, road and highways. Electric scooters, electric bicycles, golf carts and motorized electric wheelchairs are not eligible. Customers are required to submit proof of eligibility to enroll by uploading either a tag receipt or proof of insurance showing the customer’s name and address for which the discount is being applied. For employer-owned leases, customers must submit a copy of the Employer Lease Agreement along with a signed Employer-Owned Lease Certification Form. Participants of the EV Night Charging Discount program must renew their enrollment annually.
If you no longer qualify or you wish to be removed from the EV Night Charging Discount, please contact our Products & Services Team at 1-800-990-APCO (2726) or by email at
