Peach Jam Jubilee

Kick off peach season at the Peach Jam Jubilee June 13-14. Gather on Friday at 5 p.m. for faith and worship night with the Lomax Praise Band, Holy Destiny and Mac Powell. On Saturday, the festival will offer live performances by Maggie Baugh, Larry Fleet and Ashley McBryde, with vendors, a hot air balloon and kids’ zone. Admission is free. The festival is in Clanton off I-65 at exits 205, 208 or 212. Mark your calendar for the Peach Festival June 21-28.

Birmingham Food Truck Friday

The trucks are back for the summer, and so is the vibe. Food Truck Friday returns to Birmingham City Hall from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get ready for a lunchtime break with a side of music, laughs and maybe a little line dancing. A live DJ will be spinning popular favorites, and the food trucks will be serving up everything from comfort food classics to bold new bites.  Grab your co-workers, bring your appetite and get ready for a lunch to remember. The venue is at 710 20th St. North.

Alabama State Games

Celebrate the Alabama State Games at the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex Friday, June 13. Athletes will come together to compete in friendly sporting events and enjoy access to a wide range of activities. Admission is free. Visit the website for the complete schedule of events.

Sun Festival Alexander City 

Enjoy the annual Sun Festival Alexander City through June 14. The family-friendly event will offer a variety of entertainment, including live music, family events, movies, trivia and KidsFest. Renew Our Rivers

The Renew Our Rivers (ROR) volunteer cleanup at the Alabama River will be Saturday, June 14. Cleanup supplies will be provided. For additional details about the cleanup, contact George Walthal at 334-799-4173. ROR is a national-award-winning campaign originated by Alabama Power in 2000. Since its start, more than 134,000 volunteers have removed more than 8,450 tons of trash and debris from rivers, lakes and creeks across four Southeastern states.
