The Wisconsin skies contained an incredible image of state cooperation and military might last month.

Fighters from Alabama, Wisconsin, Florida, Minnesota and Arizona formed in the sky over Wisconsin before heading into the fight for exercise Sentry North, near Volk Field, Camp Douglas, Wisconsin.

The aircraft included U.S. Air Force F-35A Lightning II assigned to the 115th Fighter Wing, Wisconsin Air National Guard; F-35A Lightning II assigned to the 33rd Fighter Wing, Eglin Air Force Base, Florida; F-35A Lightning II assigned to the 187th Fighter Wing, Alabama Air National Guard; F-16C Fighting Falcon assigned to the 148th Fighter Wing, Minnesota Air National Guard; U.S. Marine Corps F-35B Lightning II assigned to the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 225/3rd MAW, Yuma, Arizona; and F-16A Netz (Hawk) assigned to Top Aces Combat Air Forces/Contracted Air Support program attached to the 33rd Fighter Wing, Eglin AFB.

Sentry North is a military exercise focused on combat-ready training in simulated contested environments and is specifically designed to enhance the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense’s readiness, interoperability and capability in an air-to-air simulated combat environment.

Sentry North brought together more than 1,200 participants and 60 aircraft from 14 flying units this year, demonstrating the strength and coordination of our joint forces. See some of them in the gallery below.
