On a recent Saturday afternoon at a Bessemer golf course event space, women gathered for a tea party, dressed in their finest tea-time attire. But this wasn’t a gathering to celebrate upcoming nuptials or a new addition to the family.
Entitled “Pain Made Me Do It,” the tea party was “where women come together to talk mental health, healing and turning pain into power,” according to the invitation.
Tynea Swain, lead therapist at Little Einstein Counseling and Development in Hueytown, was the host and led the discussion.
“We are seeing a lot of tempers flaring and we are seeing a lot of relationships deciding to depart just because they are arguing over money or arguing where they’re going to live because things right now are just so difficult,” Swain said.
