VIDEO: University of South Alabama cadet talks about facing Confidence Chamber

The U.S. Army calls it a “Confidence Chamber,” and it does help soldiers build trust in their chemical warfare equipment. But soldiers refer to it as the gas chamber because at some point they are going to have to remove their protective mask and be exposed to the CS gas inside. It’s a painful but not lethal experience.

Facing the Confidence Chamber is a part of the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Cadet Summer Training at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

ROTC Cadets Thomas Nelson of the University of South Alabama and Constance Toldo of The Citadel talk about facing the Confidence Chamber in this video.
