The Alabama Community College System, in collaboration with leading industry partners, is expanding its innovative Customer Service Professional Training Program to Trenholm State Community College in Montgomery. The program, which will run from Aug. 26 through Oct. 23, is designed to equip students with the essential skills needed to thrive in the fast-growing customer service sector.
This eight-week course will be held 6-8:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering flexibility for working adults and career changers. The curriculum includes training in call center and in-person service fundamentals, business etiquette, communication strategies, CRM software, and product promotion and sales.
The program is part of a statewide initiative supported by companies such as Alabama Power, ASK Telemarketing and other industry partners who are committed to building a pipeline of skilled professionals ready to deliver exceptional customer experiences. Starting salaries in the industry range from $40,000 to $50,000 annually, with additional incentives for bilingual employees. Many roles offer remote or hybrid work options, and, while some employers prefer candidates with prior experience, others welcome those new to the field who are eager to learn.
